Before Treaty settlement assets are transferred to Ngāti Hinerangi, a private trust known as the Post-Settlement Governance Entity (PSGE), will be set up to receive the settlement assets.
After receiving the redress, the PSGE will manage, hold and administer the assets on behalf of and for the benefit of present and future members of Ngāti Hinerangi in accordance with the trust deed.
Core functions include:
Implementing strategies to reduce inequities in areas such as health, education, employment etc
Aquire property for the purpose of long-term financial gain
Organise the care of vested sites received through cultural redress
Work with district and regional councils on resource management processes.
